ABOUT HUMAN SOURCES

Human Sources are a library of powerful and accessible source methods for developing your superpowers of self-awareness and situational awareness. These Human methods use Human Spaces to orient you in your stories and journeys, so that you can make sense of what you are encountering and experiencing.

Conventional methods of working with human behaviour are typically based on attempting to measure and assess behaviours in a logical and analytical way. Although these seemingly objective approaches may provide a comfortable illusion of predictability, they are actually poor predictors of outcomes.

HUMAN SOURCES WORK IN A VERY HUMAN WAY

HUMAN SOURCES WORK IN A VERY HUMAN WAY

Working with Human Sources encourages and inspires you to work in a very human way, instead of just feeling that you are just some logically defined behavioural unit with a computer for a brain and just another cog in a corporate machine. The reality is, however, that humans don’t have computers for brains.

The human brain is a hugely sophisticated simulator, trying to be a predictor. Your senses are continually gathering information and feeding it to your brain, where it simulates what you are perceiving. We use those simulations to try and predict what will happen in complex and uncertain situations.

JOURNEY THROUGH COMPLEXITY AND UNCERTAINTY

JOURNEY THROUGH COMPLEXITY AND UNCERTAINTY

We describe our brain simulations as our stories. We use our simulations, our stories, to make sense of ourselves, to make sense of other people and to make sense of the world around us. Human Sources enable you to become more aware of the stories you are generating and the stories you are surrounded by.

Rather than trying to measure and assess your behaviours prescriptively, Human Sources invite you to step into the centre of your own knowledge and experience so that you can make sense of your own stories and the stories of other people as you journey together through complexity and uncertainty.

ENGAGE WITH REAL-WORLD CHALLENGES

ENGAGE WITH REAL-WORLD CHALLENGES

Human Sources methods provide a lightly held framework for positively and healthily engaging with complex real-world challenges. Each method is described by using Overviews, Concepts, Purposes, Uses, Resources, Set Ups, Processes, Guidance, Examples, Connections, Media and References.

Overviews, Concepts, Purposes, and Uses are the Why? of the method and the Resources, Set Ups, Processes, Guidance, Examples, Connections, Media and References are the How? of the method. The Why? for each Human Source is open access and accessing the How? requires membership of the Human Network, which is currently by invitation only.
